philosophy
The type of work I do is relational, process oriented, and supportive.
By ‘support’ I do not mean to imply push or in some way make happen.
I believe the therapy process has a life of its own.
I tend to be disciplined, gentle and unassuming.
Problems that are experienced in work, in school, or in relationships are understood within the natural developmental processes of psychological adjustment, through which everyone moves during their lifetime.
Each developmental period provides an opportunity to
experience new meaning and purpose in life.
counseling services
I provide individual counseling for adults and older adolescents.
Some of the concerns clients bring to counseling include: depression, stress, anxiety, family of origin conflicts, alcohol/ drug addiction and recovery, grief, coping with physical injury and trauma.

Marital or relationship counseling  can help you and your partner sort out your problems and build a stronger relationship. Whether you are in the middle of a crisis, going through a difficult transition, or discovering unlikeable behaviors about each other,  counseling can be a source of support and growth.Having an objective third party helps you work through anger, resentment, hurt and disappointment. Seeing couples emerge from a difficult situation feeling more connected, intimate and committed than they thought possible is very gratifying.

At the core of group counseling is a simple premise, involvement with other people under the right set of conditions is a powerful catalyst for healing, growing and transforming. In a climate of safety and acceptance, group members can develop a deeper understanding of who they are and how others experience them. Both of these are essential ingredients for human beings hoping to transform their lives. Some of the groups offered through The Counseling Center include:

    Personal Growth Group -adults
Personal Growth Group -high school aged adolescents
    College Survival 101
Experiential Gestalt Groups - adults & couples - weekend retreat setting.
